Santa Justa Lift
The Santa Justa Elevator, or Carmo Elevator, was inaugurated on July 10, 1902. Originally, it was steam-powered, but in November 1907 it was equipped with electric motors. This vertical elevator was designed by Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard and offers a unique panoramic view of the historic heart of the city.
